Mbeya Cement announce US$320m expansion

The Tanzanian government has signed an agreement with the Amsons Group to invest US$320m for the expansion of the Mbeya Cement plant and the construction of a new cement plant in Tanga. Amsons Group’s Director of Finance, Ahmed Mhada, disclosed that the construction of the Mbeya Plant Two will cost US$130m, while the new Tanga plant will require US$190m. Fauji Group receives largest syndicated cement financing project

Loma Negra inaugurates second line

Loma Negra (InterCement group) has inaugurated its new production line at the L'Amalí plant in Olavarría, Argentina. Together with national, provincial and municipal authorities, and the cement manufacturer’s customers and suppliers, the  second production line of L'Amalí, the largest cement plant in South America, was inaugurated on 6 December 2021. Its incorporation allows the company to increase cement production capacity by 40 per cent and create more than 160 new direct jobs.
